Spectra-Physics a subsidiary and brand of MKS Instruments, Inc.(NASDAQ: MKSI) announces that it has received the Laser Industry Innovation Award in China for the Spectra-Physics® Explorer® One™ high-energy ultraviolet (UV) nanosecond laser. MKS received the industrial lasers award in recognition for the high performance (high pulse energy of 200 μJ and 4 W output power in the UV) in an ultracompact size, ideal for precision industrial manufacturing applications.

MKS representatives accepted the award at a ceremony in Shenzhen, China. The Guangdong Laser Industry Association aims to encourage innovation and development to promote laser technology to a higher level.
The Explorer One HP HE 355-200 laser offers >200 µJ of UV pulse energy, pulse widths of <15 ns, and user-adjustable repetition rates from single shot to 200 kHz. The laser’s advanced E-Track™ active pulse-energy control features a closed-loop algorithm that enables dynamic pulse energy adjustment with various gating operations for optimal process control.
